Other Information Regarding How We Use Technology to Process Your Personal Data
To better improve your overall candidate experience, we may use a third-party technology platform that leverages an automated system to process your CV and better help match your skills to the specific job criteria. This automated tool compares the information you have submitted to Us against criteria determined by our talent acquisition team to be relevant for the position. This tool assists the team at Joe & the Juice to sort through large amounts of data. Your personal data will never be used to train this automated system nor used for any other purpose other than to help support our review of your application.
In addition, for certain roles, we may use an initial interview process, which uses artificial intelligence to create a report on each candidate which is then reviewed by the recruitment team. Information from Personality Analyses and Cognitive Tests
In connection with recruitment, We sometimes perform a personality analysis or cognitive test. The purpose of the tests is to assess your competencies in relation to the specific position and to assess whether your profile fits the company. Before completing the assessments, you will be asked for your consent to process this information. You may withdraw your consent to our processing of this information at any time. You can do this by contacting [email protected]. Withdrawing your consent will only take effect from the time we are notified. The processing conducted up to this point will still be based on your consent.

Legitimate Interests (Art. 6(1)(f) of the GDPR): Processing is necessary for the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by the controller or by a third party, except where such interests are overridden by the interests or fundamental rights and freedoms of the data subject which require protection of personal data. The legitimate interests that we pursue in connection with processing of job applicant data are:
Performance of a Contract (Art. 6(1)(b) of the GDPR): Processing is necessary for the performance of a contract to which you are a party or to take steps at your request prior to entering a contract.
Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) of the GDPR): Should we collect references from previous employers or if you are to undertake a personality analysis or cognitive test, processing will be based on your consent.
Legal Obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) of the GDPR): We collect criminal offences data to comply with legal and regulatory obligations, especially given our store locations in airports, where such backgrounds checks are mandated.
Sharing of your Personal Data

We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties for targeted advertising, as part of recruitment, employment, or personnel management processes, in compliance with the California Privacy Rights Act.
If you're a California resident requesting access to your information, please specify if you want to access categories of personal information categories or specific pieces of personal information. California residents can opt-out of any sale or sharing of personal information for targeted advertising, although we do not engage in such practices. We also do not use sensitive personal data beyond business operations or recruitment purposes.
When you submit a request, we’ll acknowledge it within 10 business days and respond substantively within 45 days. If we need more time (up to 90 days), we’ll notify you in writing.
Only you or an authorized agent may submit a verifiable request related to your personal information. Agents must have written permission, and you’ll need to verify your identity with us. We will verify both your identity and the agent's authority using the personal information provided. You don't need to create an account to make a verifiable request. If necessary, we may ask for at least two pieces of personal information to ensure accuracy and prevent fraud. We'll compare this information to what we hold to verify your request.
Retention of your Personal Data
When you submit a Job Application to Us or otherwise provide personal data on our careers site, we retain your personal information for a period of 6 months as per our retention policies.
For those who are hired, personal data collected through the personality and cognitive assessments, will be retained for a period of 36 months. This extended retention period supports ongoing employee development and performance evaluation.
